729161 miles to the North Pole

crying on This photo doesn’t really need an explanation.  I was a year and a half old, and Santa freaked me out.

In reality, the poor guy was probably my age now, reduced to donning an itchy costume and fake beard, forced to endure hour after hour of sticky, greedy, bawling little kids being placed on his lap just to make enough money to buy his own Christmas presents.  He must have wanted to give up by the end of the first day.

The photographer certainly seemed to have given up by the time I got there; Santa wasn’t even centered in the photo.  At least we were in focus.

I wonder if mall Santas are paid more if their beards are real?

Hilarious! You know there’s actually a book out now dedicated to kids have meltdowns on Santa’s lap? This one could totally be included. 🙂 I was a little afraid of Santa, too. And the Easter Bunny — dude was creepy!
